Family Hammett, started to attend Word Of Life PHC in 2008 where shortly after, Abigail joined the Worship Team. The eldest son, Russell, now 14, also forms part of the Church’s Worship Team. He has been playing drums in Church Services since the age of 10. As he is growing older, he is showing interest in the church sound system. Russell, is a student of Global Institute of Theology Malta, currently undertaking a course in the Christian Life series. This is helping him understand the Word of God in a more fluent and systematic way, adaptable to his age. Abigail is supporting his studies by undertaking the same course herself, with the intention of studying further in the future. After several years of church attendance, she gradually involved herself in other duties and these studies often help her in ministering the introductory devotion of the Sunday Service and at times the Breaking of Bread devotion. Her husband, Robert, is the one working ‘behind the scenes’, where he is always supportive to Abigail and to the general needs of the Church. He now, takes care of the church maintenance, and often comes up with new ideas, as he has this responsibility at heart. Hopefully, the young one of the family, Matthew, who is seven will also follow his family’s lead and serves in the house of prayer when he is older. As a family, they have grown in the Lord both on a personal level and as a family unit, not by ‘mere church attendance’ but by serving the body of Christ and activating their God given gifts for their calling, with the mind set of ‘what can I give to the House of the Lord?’, rather than ‘what can I receive?’…all for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. OUR CHURCH BOARD
Lawrence and Ritianne Agius have been attending Word of life Pentecostal Holiness Church since 2014. The solid biblical teaching led this couple to join this body of Bible believing Christians.Today Lawrence is being trained for the pastoral ministry under the care of Pastor Joseph Agius. His ministry involves the co-ordination of Sunday Services and Bible Studies, also assisting the Pastor in the preaching and teaching of the Word of God.Over the years Ritianne has been involved in various ministries such as translation from English to Maltese and in some cases when needed from English to Italian and also the Children’s Ministry. Since joining Word of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lawrence and Ritianne were blessed with two sons, Noah James who is five years old and Isaiah who will be turning two in October 2020.As a family, their heart’s desire is to serve the Lord and His church. As they are being trained into ministry, they are eager to help and train others finding their place in ministry. With a clear vision and a purpose that God gets all the Glory!! August 6, 2020
Our church board consists of seven members. These are the pastors, the Hammetts, the Agius family, and Sandro Grech. The Board acts as an advisory committee to the pastors and meets to discuss matters that need addressing, to improve the service to the church. The role of the Board is pastoral in nature. The worship leader, Sandro Grech, and the two other families are whom the pastors see as the future church leaders. Therefore, they want to have as much exposure as possible regarding church leadership. The meetings are recorded but very informal. We enjoy the friendship and family atmosphere. The Board makes its decision with prayer and consultation with other church members. The Board has two goals for the results of decision making. The decision must answer the questions: “what gives glory to God most” and “how this will build an individual/s and the church collectively.” With this in mind, we feel that this is the way the WOLPHC is to be governed. The response of the church confirms to us that this is how the Lord wants us to operate at this present time.
Sandro Grech joined the WOL church in May 2007. During a sermon by Pastor Linwood Berry (Regional Director IPHC Mediterranean Region). He was watching slides of people using various talents to worship God. In his heart, he felt that that's the way he should serve God. Sandro was baptized in October of the same year. He then joined the Word of Life PH Church, worship team. Sandro began playing drums, an instrument that he has been playing since a very young age. Having also studied bass guitar, he started playing this a year later with the team and being given the honorable role of leading the team. Sandro arranged most of the music and helped the team to focus more on Jesus while serving the worship ministry. Sandro is still leading the worship team. His ultimate goal is to worship God in spirit and in truth, and lead others in the Holy of Holies. Leading worship has several spiritual and musical challenges. However, with the Holy Spirit's help, the ministry continues to worship God and give service to the brethren.August 10, 2020
